DENA’S SCRAPPER DOG’S BLOG APRIL 2010 Easter is nearly here and I haven’t finished my cards yet. What am I going to do? Since I usually have to solve my own problems a thought came to mind - I’ll take a quick trip to my favourite crafty store and see if I can buy some ready made cards. That way I’ll still be sending handmade cards but not made by me. No one will ever know as I’ll attach a little sticker to the back showing “made by Basset Dena”! What’s a little white lie now and then… I arrived at the store and the parking lot was completely full – how unusual but one of the other stores may have a sale on, so I thought! I finally found a parking space - four blocks away. Once I entered the store I couldn’t believe my eyes! It was a scrapper’s delight – sales and more sales. The worst part is that I wasn’t notified in advance of this shop till you drop event! Something this Basset will look into… Amongst the crowds there was entertainment galore, including Beader Bob warbling a romantic ballad entitled ”Beads or You” which kept the customers in awe. He then changed the pace and encouraged everyone to join in with his rendition of a sing along – “Bead Along With Me”. I was then caught up in the mood and put my inhibitions aside and joined in. Unfortunately my drooly Basset howls didn’t go over well so I was asked to sit down. Sob… I soon came round when I was given a 50% store coupon for my attempted sing song! After the music finished I ventured over to another gathering where Sand-Drah and San-Deee were doing a “card-a-thon” – a competition to see who could make the most cards in a limited time. Sand-Drah was in the lead much to the dismay of San-Deee! May the best person win! ...arf…arf… I then checked out a group of mesmerized customers quietly listening to a gorgeous hunk giving a talk on scrapbooking. It appeared most of them were all gaga over this mature gent with the big brown eyes and soft voice. My interest had now peaked and I had to see who it was – I finally did and recognized him – it was Basset Giorgio - a well known gigolo from the scrapbook circuit. Scrapper ladies beware… I should know! As the sale wound down I hurried to complete the numerous contest forms. There was one in particular I wanted to win and that was a “dinner date” with Beader Bob. Since there was no limit on the entries I grabbed the entire stack of entry forms and completed them all. It took me nearly an hour but it was well worth the effort especially if I win. Wish me luck! ~ Happy Easter ~
