SCRAPPER’S DOG BLOG JUNE 2010 It’s now June and we’re both off to my favourite crafty store, not for crafty items, but to assist with the Anti (did I spell that right, or is it “Auntie”?) HST Petition. Upon arrival Beader Bob (a.k.a. Anti HST representative) directed us to encourage people to sign the petitions. We canines need to take a stance on this as well – don’t you agree? In appreciation of our assistance, and since I’m a very regular customer, Beader Bob gave us both gift certificates. Before my paramour had a chance to see his I grabbed it and planned my next purchase. Wowee – it’s shopping time again! Joey then resigned himself to sitting on the sidelines while I grabbed a basket and drooled (not literally) over all the bargains. After an hour I checked on my man and he was no longer where I left him, instead he was chatting to an attractive, sleek looking female, Missie Grey-Hound. I didn’t have time to be jealous as my concerns were seeking crafty bargains, so I resumed my hunt for another hour. After two hours of shopping the weight of my basket was getting too much for me so I decided to get Joey’s assistance, but he was nowhere to be found. I looked everywhere to no avail. I then ventured outside where I found him and that Grey-Hound woman having a quiet chat! They finally noticed me and motioned to join them. My fanged smirk gave my mood away and there was dead silence. Joey then mumbled something about helping me with my purchase. Upon re-entering the store Joey said that “woman” was a sales rep for one of the largest craft suppliers in Western Canada and she was asking him about his crafty opinion (for a magazine article) from a male’s point of view. I didn’t know whether to believe him or not until he said that my name would also be mentioned in the article. Wow! Now I wanted to speak to her but she’d already gone – typical of my luck… I’ll just have to wait for the article. I then resumed my shopping as I still hadn’t reached my limit on the gift certificates – hour three here I come and there goes Joey back to the sidelines! Poor boy!
